Tools for Wheelchair users
It is only to be expected that many people in wheelchairs will require some extra help in the performing their daily tasks. These tasks can range from cooking a simple meal to taking a simple shower - two things, for example, that we take for granted, but for wheelchair bound people can become a huge challenge in completing. With the increased technology coupled with the design engineer's great imagination these wheelchair users are beginning to discover many gadgets on the market which can assist them in the everyday tasks. Should you are a loved one or friend be seeking this sort of information you can begin your quest with a careful search of the internet. Since the wheelchair users require help when they are attempting to perform minor tasks, the internet offers them a great opportunity for locating what may benefit them and their particular life style. Since the most difficult part of being physically challenged is the very act of obtaining a shower those individuals who are handicapped may find refuge in the site since it offers many optional accessories. Such as accommodating accessibility products including ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) roll-in wheelchair showers, shower pans, accessible assisted living bathtubs, safety grab bars, shower seats, access ramps, and other unique bathroom and home accessories. People who are bound to their wheelchairs will surely feel a bit more comfortable knowing that there are websites that are accumulating information and products in order to create better lives for them. Some websites offers links relating to the physically challenged individuals as well as their families and friends concerning topics that can aid them towards achieve a more comfortable life. Some even present products for those people who may have difficulties in grooming themselves. Another area of great difficulty for the wheelchair bound is that of stairs. There are many lifts, hoists etc available , although the act of climbing stairs became more easier recently with the advent of the iBOT system. The user of the new breakthrough wheelchair, the iBOT, can command the wheelchair in different ways by the push of a button. The iBOT can be converted from a standard chair with four wheels contacting the ground to an elevated chair balanced on only two wheels. The iBOT can engage four-wheel drive to manoeuvre rough terrain, go up slopes, or climb 4-inch curbs. For stair-climbing, there are two sets of drive wheels that rotate up and over reach other to climb up or down, one step at a time. The unique balancing system allows the wheelchair to remain stable and the seat to stay level during all of the aforementioned manoeuvres. A simple search for iBOT on the internet will return a host of results. Getting into or out of a car - getting a light wheelchair into a car is easy for some people. If you have some strength and the right car, you can pull it in front of the passenger’s seat or behind the front seats. And if you can lift and walk a little you may be able to put the chair in the back of the car without any equipment. If you can’t do this, or have a heavy scooter or wheelchair, a simple search on the internet will return a varied and large number of solutions - a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), Rear Hoist, Wheelchair trailer, Portable Ramp, Rooftop Hoist, together with a varied variety of racks and containers. For the person who is stuck in a wheelchair from morning to night life can be a bit difficult, however with the help of the internet the person can find as much assistance and help as they would require. You can readily locate many items of interest for the wheelchair confined person that would make their life better. Becoming a self-reliant person again has never been easier for the wheelchair user then now - thanks to the internet.
